Garage Door Installation

Do not undertake any garage door installation until the dangers are known. Many doors require advanced mechanical skills and the instructions should be thoroughly understood before attempting. If there is anything that is uncertain about the instructions it is best to consult a professional.

There are many tools that are needed for successful garage door installation. They include a good hammer, level, an assortment of screwdrivers, a ratchet with assorted sockets, locking pliers, wrenches, a drill, steel winding bars, and a step ladder. A tape measure, tape, knife and saw are also required. Tools that greatly help include an impact wrench, wire cutters, and saw horses. At least one dozen penny nails as well as exterior paint are used to finish the door.

The supplies needed for garage door installation are the door panels with a weather strip on the bottom one, track, punched angle iron, a steel shaft, one to two springs, and reinforcement struts for larger doors. There is a great deal of hardware needed as well such as hinges, rollers, cables, nuts, bolts and a wide variety of other supplies. It is a lot of work, but can be completed at home to save money.
