Garage Door Parts

Garage door parts are all the little pieces that combine together to make a functioning, safe, and secure garage door. There are many different parts that are used. The largest and most obvious is the actual door panels. They can come in sections or as one solid piece. If in sections they have to be attached together with quality hinges.

Other garage door parts include the running tracks and rollers for the doors. The rollers fit into the tracks and guide the door along a specific course. The torsion spring, or counterbalance spring, is what actually holds the weight of the door and has to be carefully adjusted. The opener is an electric engine that is connected to the door with a mechanical track which connects to a trolley on the door.

Other garage door parts include bottom and top brackets, jamb bracket, seals, cable drums, spring fittings, exhaust ports, and extension springs. When these are all correctly combined they provide a safe and easy to use garage door that will last for years.
